[Macros] intelligently Organize your spellbook, Knight!

Today a short section on macros. These lines of scripts to perform multiple or combined action can be very useful in game and make you more effective!

Creating a macro

This operation, although simple, you may be unknown. To do this, go to the main menu ("Esc") and in macro. You'll be able to create a new macro or edit existing ones. Note that a macro does not need to be saved: as soon as an order is written, it stays there. So be careful when you change!
When you choose to create a macro, you must provide a name and an icon. Among the icons available, you have all those spells and abilities of different classes and those frames and minions. The first icon (the "?") Which is an icon "neutral" may be useful as I'll explain in the short time on orders.
After creating the macro, simply drag the button in the shortcut bar.

Writing a macro and a few useful commands

  • General:

    A macro is composed of one or more commands that are scripts that run as if they are returned directly involved Thus, a macro is simply a very basic hi to perform an emote associated if you click the button. There are many more complex commands to do actions over worked. One of the most common is the / cast that allows casting a spell: cast Death Strike, for example, will launch this attack if you click the button (completely useless as a macro, but it is an example! ^ ^).

    Among those useful, you'll find the / tar (or / target ) / castrandom , / dismount , etc. ... A full list is available here .

  • Terms & Options:

    You can put a lot of conditions in your macros. Among the most useful were those defining the target or analyzing the mouse click.

    Thus, the macro: / cast [button: 1] Frost Strike; [button: 2] Death Coil; launch a Frost Strike if you left click (or you press the keyboard shortcut which is corresponding to the macro) and a Death Coil if you right click! The

    change will only activate the line him that if you combine a button (among Control, Alt and Shift) with the macro. For example, the macro / cast [nomodifier] Blood Strike; [modifier: alt] Death Coil; [modifier: shift] Strike Frost; [modifier: ctrl] Rune Strike; cast the spell, depending on whether you press Alt, Control, Shift or any of these buttons by clicking on the macro (or pressing the shortcut if the combination n is not assigned to another shortcut).

    Other interesting option, the target. If I am I and Unholy Frenzy Unholy has that I usually put on my keupain Lasah, I could make a / cast [target = Lasah] Unholy Frenzy; or / cast [@ Lasah ] Unholy Frenzy; to have to click on the macro without having to select the nose of war before!

    Finally, a useful option, the # showtooltip . The latter displays the tooltip of the first spell cast when you fly over the macro (like spells so). Note that if you leave on the icon "?", It automatically adjusts to that of the fate that is appropriate. An example?

      # showtooltip / cast [target = Lasah] Unholy Frenzy

Macros essential for any good DK Tank!

In this category, I'll show you the macros that I urge you to have. They can often save time reaction, thus improving efficiency, or offer some comfort.

  • A NAME NAME! Good Sails Mortals!

    Macro allow, spamming the same button to send itself a series of sails above mortals after Lichborne farted. The technique can be tricky because one must have earned a lot of PR but it can be lifesaving!

      # showtooltip / cast! Lichborne;
      / cast [@ player] Death Coil

  • Oh shit shit quickly ghoul!

    This macro can invoke the ghoul and just behind the sacrifice. Typically the kind of CD to chatter when you are 5% of PV, everyone runs around in panic (especially the healer) and the boss comes down to you with an air of sinister (but almost, © Coluche). In short, super useful when your life is at its lowest and you know that saving heal does not necessarily gonna happen.

      # showtooltip / castsequence Raise Dead, Mortal
      Pact / cast Strengthen rune weapon

    The Resuscitation Morbid and Mortal Covenant is subject to GCD, you must double click on this macro (usually this is the kind it spam!).

    's interest Strengthen rune weapon is to generate runic power. Again, if you use this macro, then you're in trouble, and use this CD is a sacrifice worth a shot!

  • Wide Shot! (Thanks to Onocred and Tankator!)

    This macro can increase the maximum distance from the camera, which is essential on a lot of bosses, they are huge base, and knowing that we must have good vision of the fight.

      / run SetCVar ("cameraDistanceMax", 25)

  • The taunt all the sauces!

    The macro that I present here will allow, with a single button, to combine (if necessary) the taunt with two spells that accompany many different situations:

      # showtooltip / cast Dark Order
      / cast [modifier: ctrl] Sudden fever; [modifier: shift] Death Coil;

    If you just click the macro, you will do a simple Dark Order. So basic, it can replace your usual shortcut without interacting. But if you click (or press the shortcut, as it does not correspond to another shortcut) above in combination with the Control key, it will launch, in addition Dark Order, a Fever Outbreak. Similarly with the Shift key and Death Coil.

    The value of this macro is to "decorate" your taunt as needed. In general, I like to use the version with Fever Outbreak in sweater and one with the Death Coil when I want to taunt and earn a bit of aggro on a mob away (to avoid after the taunt he left on his previous target due to a dragging DoT)

  • Stop the mantra 'of a non-mob Focus:

    Sometimes you tanking an add close to another or add a boss to interrupt, like Halfus Breaker Wyrm, for example. But even if in such cases, others are assigned to the task, the more people to stop, the less likely are FAIL!

    This will require that you put the mob / boss to stop in focus (right click on his portrait → "Set Focus" or the target and / focus). When the mob in question launches an incantation, you will see a bar cast in his portrait of Foca. Therefore, by clicking this macro, you can interrupt it directly without releasing your target!

      # showtooltip / cast [focus @] Gel mind

    Simple, effective, and you do not lose concentration and efficiency by changing target. Just be careful to spell! =)

  • Recovery adds raid.

    This macro is designed to help you get the adds that can poper suddenly in a battle over which should be recovering very fast! (Example: Lasher biting on Freya, Champion on Thorim, etc ...)
    Take the example of Lasher teeth.

      / mor tar Lasher
      / cast Dark Order
      / cast Icy Touch

    Several important points here. First, the command / tar (which is the same as / target ) does not require the full name of the mob. He chose the one whose beginning matches and being the closest (there is specific enough so that there is no ambiguity).

    There is also a more "clean" and which will prevent you from launching spells in question on the wrong target (if the add does not pop), but that does not target the add (you can add a / tar macro end at worst):

      / cast [target = Lasher teeth] Dark
      order / cast [target = Lasher teeth] Icy Touch

Macros gadgets

Some macros are not necessarily useful, but cool. :-)

  • Tipiticlop!

    The first will launch a frame with a left click and another with a right click. The latter starts a frame at random from the list of those specified. (Works with flying course)
    The latter allows, with the same button to take her flying mount when possible, if not land, and remove if you are already in frame, all in one click! Thank you to Tredok for this macro! ;-)

      # showtooltip / cast [button: 1] Steed of death [button: 2] Orange Raptor rapid

      # showtooltip
      / castrandom Steed's death, Orange Raptor rapid Warhorse Green, Grey Wolf rapid

      / use [flyable] Red Griffon fast
      Black War Steed / dismount [mounted]

    Moreover, I advise Livestock (see article on addons) to have fun the invocation of mounts / pets!

  • Focus nondidju, focus!

    Macro extremely simple but useful to tell your group or raid the allocation of signs that are placed on the targets. There is no specified channel and you just need the right channel and set the macro will launch the line in this channel there (ie, if I just talk on the channel group is one which will chosen).

      {skull} = Focus / / {cross} = 2e target / / {circle} = 3e / / {star} = 4e / / {} moon = sheep

    FYI, other signs are: {lozenge} {delta} and {square}.
    Incidentally, I urge you to assign shortcuts (in the menu of the same name) to award of these signs to put them with simplicity and efficiency. If you do not already in use, the keypad is a good option!

  • That the dead rise!

    Little macro to save some space: left click to take one of your friends and fallen right click to summon a ghoul "standard".

      # showtooltip / cast [button: 1] Raise Ally; [button: 2] Raise Dead;

  • Apu of place in my bars had!

    If you too are fighting for space in your bar, but you want your favorite spells are available, here is a type of macro that can be quite helpful:

      # showtooltip / cast [nomodifier] Touch of ice [modifier: ctrl] Sudden fever;

    Thus, when I want to make a Icy Touch, I just press the macro, ie my 3 button (I take my UI for an example). However, if I want to send a Fever Outbreak, I Ctrl + 3 (since I am assured of not having a shortcut associated with this combination). Simple and devilishly effective.

    This type of macro is well adapted for use spell but occasionally we want to have on hand without seeking a shortcut to the other side of the screen, like Necrotic Strike or Dark Dummy . For spells to recharge, it may be helpful (but not essential) to have a shortcut out of a place that even if not very accessible, can see the cooldown easily.

hope this short article you will be served summer, I hope you sombrejournée my brothers and sisters! (And do not hesitate to share your macros to comment! If they are interesting, let me add them. ^ _ ^)
